Hunters Not the Only Ones Getting Rifle Training These Days

Hunters would obviously have a pretty good reason to get rifle training. Rifle training is what makes the difference between them getting a hit on that 12-point buck or not. Their bragging rights are on the table if they should happen to miss that shot, so many hunters spend thousands of dollars at VR simulations and shooting ranges to better their shot. Front Sight Firearms Training Institute is one of the many places that hunters flock to in order to better their aim and ability. But the vast majority of those who attend Front Sight, even of those who attend Front Sight for rifle training, are not hunters. Strangely for some, the majority of the students who attend Front Sight are upper- & middle-class normal "joes".

Especially now that Front Sight is becoming the nation's first gun town, the director and founder, Dr. Ignatius Piazza, is aiming to attract investors quickly. That's right, gun town. What exactly would a gun town look like? According to the article in USA Today, it would look something like 12 shooting ranges, a 5-story urban tactics/assault tower, a 12,000 square foot gymnasium, 400 yards of underground storm drains for search & rescue training, 177 home lots, a private K-12 school and a convenience store. Dr. Piazza is quoted in the USA Today article as calling the future Front Sight, Nevada "Disneyland for gun enthusiasts" or "Pebble Beach for gun owners".

So nothing at the shooting school of Front Sight will change, but plenty is changing to the topography. According to USA Today, construction on the multi-million dollar plan is well underway, so look for America's first gun town, going up near Las Vegas, Nevada. The Army, Navy and Air Force will certainly continue sending their men and women there for additional training, America should be no different, and should in fact take from their example.
